Orton Grange Cafe
Looking for somewhere to eat and relax in North Cumbria? Orton Grange Café could be the very place! Orton Grange Cafe opened in August 2006 in a superbly converted sandstone barn, to add to our unique Gift Shop which is next door.
The cafe is used by a wide variety of people. From friends meeting for lunch & coffee with their babies, children having lunch after swimming classes, people having their daily morning coffee read the paper, business meetings, ladies afternoon tea and drinking prosecco, gin on a Friday afternoon, to people ordering food on the way to their hair appointment, which can be brought up to them while they have their hair done in The Shearing Shed.
We also do Take away for those in a rush, if you have a large order then we can take your orders over the phone, allowing you to simply send someone to collect the order. For a quick & easy tasty lunch our whole menu is available for take away. Many people arrive to visit the shop and end up having lunch in the café. You can order and spend your time browsing until your food is ready.
The conversion was planned to be modern and stylish. And the glass and steel perfectly complement the original sandstone walls. The café is on two floors. Upstairs there are comfortable sofas and it’s not unusual for people to spend all afternoon here.
Our food is simple and tasty. We offer our famous new Farmer’s Full English breakfast, which is served between 10am and 11.30am Monday to Saturday & served all day Sunday & Bank Holiday Monday’s! We also do ploughman’s lunches using the best quality cheese and ham, toasted sandwiches, home-made soup, quiches and cakes. Most are accompanied by chef’s delicious coleslaw and salads. We have a range of drinks, both soft and alcoholic, as well as a range of Fairtrade teas and coffees.
Orton Grange Café is open the same hours as our shop: 10 to 5 Mondays to Saturdays, 11 to 4 on Sundays. We’re closed on Bank Holidays except Good Friday. Please that last orders in the cafe are 30 minutes before we close.
